After a long Iowa winter, it is so much fun to witness the beautiful weather we are now experiencing in Burlington, Iowa!  Tonight we sat in The Courtyard of the Drake Restaurant on the Riverfront and sampled flavors from the International Night menu.  It was Germany tonight so we pretended we were along the Rhine instead of the Mississippi.  Stuffed cabbage rolls, spareribs and sauerkraut, Beef Ramoulade, German Potato Salad, Red Cabbage and Apples, are just a few of the choices at the buffet.  Of course, it was all topped off with a slice of German Chocolate cake.  I hope you'll go to this site to see what The Drake is all about-----------------------------http://www.thedrakerestaurant.com  Chef Klem has a passion for his work, but he doesn't call it work.  He says he's playing in the kitchen all day.  Even though I majored in Home Economics in college, I'd rather let him cook for me.  I hope you get a chance to stop in some time to experience the history and fine dining.  Bring the kids too.  It's a fun place to be.
